Characteristic Modifications - Todd E. Schreiber Here is a new proposed characteristic modification experience chart. The purpose is to make improving an ability a little easier for small changes, yet much more difficult for large changes (i.e. a player with an 18 strength could attain a 20 strength without too much difficulty, but going from 20 to 22 would be more difficult, and so on). These rules will apply to Strength, Manual Dexterity, Agility, Magical Aptitude and Willpower. As far as physical beauty goes, you'll still need a good plastc surgeon. Of course a skilled healer could maybe improve you a couple of points max. Upon attaining adventurer rank, you can raise each of the above skills one point for 2400 exp. and 5000 exp. for each point thereafter. Upon attaining hero rank, you once again get to raise each ability one point for 2400 exp. and 5000 exp. thereafter. Possible additional optional rule, at adventurer & hero you get to raise Willpower one point for 1000 exp. the first time. It seems like this should almost be an automatic as you will not run into a hero with the same lack of willpower as he had when he was 18 years old and just starting out. Same could also go for fatigue, ie battle hardening should account for something, other than skill and knowledge of combat. The way the experience stands in the book is as follows: Characteristic First Point Each point after -------------- ----------- --------------- Fatigue 2500 2500 Endurance 5000 2500 Perception 1000 750 All others 5000 5000 New Advntr/Hero Each point after ----------- ----------- --------------- Willpower 1000/1000 5000 Endurance 2400/2400 2500 Fatigue 1000/1000 2500 All Others 2400/2400 5000 Perception remains the same
